Bragging Rights on the Line in Friday Night’s Rivalry Game
It is no secret here at Bishop High that the Broncos and the Kern Valley Broncs are bitter rivals. This Friday the Lady Broncos will take on the girls from KV in what will arguably be one of the most important and exciting games of their season. The Bishop girls are coming off a heartbreaking loss in a nail-biting overtime game against Chaffey, while KV is fresh off a 68-51 victory over the Wonderful College Prep Academy girls.
Despite still having 9 games left in the season, it is abundantly clear that the Bronco girls have made major improvements to the team as they have already doubled their wins from last season; however the girls are still sporting a less than desirable record of 6-8, with the top scorer being Shawnau Johnson, who is averaging close to 10 points a game. The KV girls on the other hand are sporting a nice 7-3 record on the year, with the standout player being number 21 Hannah Hurley, who has an unbelievable 304 points on the season and is averaging roughly 30 points per game.
KV will definitely give the Lady Broncos a run for their money in a game that is sure to be one of the best and most exciting of the season, but no matter what the outcome is, Bronco fans will still be able to spell. Like former football coach Bill Egan once said, “You’re nothing without the O.” Make sure to come out and support the girls tonight a 4:30!
