BUHS wins in a blowout vs KV

The Bishop Broncos played the Kern Valley Broncs Friday in the high desert league opener, but with the Broncos being 2-3 and the Broncs 2-3 both teams were looking to go back to an even record. But the once great rivalry was non existent on Friday as Bishop manhandled KV as the ending score was 54-16 making the Broncos 3-3 and the Broncs fall to 2-4.

Arturo Lemus once again was the MVP of the game, Lemus, the Junior led the team in all purpose yards with 174, had 1 catch for 31 yards, and 8 carries for 76 yards. Lemus was also a key member of the Bronco Defense with 9 total tackles, an interception, and a 67 yard return for a touchdown.

Steven Paco was named offensive MVP with 3 carries for 45 yards, and 2 touchdowns.

The Broncos defense played lights out for the most part only allowing 16 total points in the win against KV. The defensive MVP was Sophomore Wes Pettet, Wes had 7 solo tackles and a tackle for a loss while also recovering a fumble.

Senior Mike Molina was named special teams MVP for a quality night that included getting a punt block and giving BUHS great field position and setting them up for a TD.
