Bishop Union improves to 3-0 in HDL play and 6-2 overall with a 43-0 homecoming win over California City. The Broncos opened a 40-0 halftime lead with a running clock in the second half. During the halftime festivities Senior Captain Levi Derr was named homecoming king capping off a fun night. On the field the Broncos defense had a big night with 13 tackles for loss and 4sacks. Elliott Douda had an interception and Devaun Mitchell returned a fumble for a touchdown. Brody Berkovatz had a pair of fourth quarter sacks.
Offensively the Bronco’s Quarterback Emory Dondero completed 4 of 5 passes for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns. Hoco King Levi Derr and Carlos Sualez both caught touchdowns. Hunter Dailey had 98 yards on carries including a 45 yard touchdown run. On Special Teams senior Carlos Sualez had a 76 yard touchdown on a punt return. Aiden Esparza connected on a 28 yard field goal rounding out the scoring.
Next up for the Broncos is the regular season home finale with Desert. Desert does not have a JV team so the Bronco JV will travel to Tonopah Friday. The Varsity will host Desert for 8-man at 7pm at John Schwab Field. Gates open at 6pm with kick off set for 7pm.
