The Broncos improve to 2-0 in the High Desert League and 5-2 overall with a dominate 44-7 win over Boron Friday night. The Broncos led 21-7 at the half and controlled the second half moving to 2-0 in HDL play. Hunter Dailey ran for a 1st half touchdown and quarterback Emory Dondero connected with brother Dom Dondero for a 25-yard touchdown helping Bishop open an early lead. Dom Barlow returned an interception 29 yards for a touchdown rounding out the first half scoring. In the second half Emory connected with Carlos Sualez on a 40 yard touchdown pass and Hunter Dailey ran for 2 more scores. Kicker Aiden Esparza drilled a 45-yard field goal giving the Broncos their final score. Defensively Bishop picked off 5 passes with Senior Richie Talavera pulling in a pair of picks. Barlow had the pick six, Hunter Dailey had a pick six called back on a penalty, and Dom Dondero had a first half interception setting up a score. Dom had a big night on defense with 5 solo tackles including a tackle for a loss. Knox Moffett had 4 solos and David Smith was disruptive from his end position with 3 solo tackles, 2 tackles for a loss and knocked down a pair of passes. Next up for the Broncos is a homecoming matchup with California City this Friday night.
