The Broncos open High Desert League play with a resounding 62-6 win over Rosamond.
The Broncos scored 4 defensive touchdowns on the night, 3 of those coming in the second half. Dom Barlow, David Smith, Elliott Douda, and Noah Castellanos all had interception returns for touchdowns. Devaun Mitchell and Malachi Orrick also recovered fumbles as the Broncos forced 6 turnovers on the night. Dom Dondero had a team high 4 tackles for a loss, and Hunter Dailey had 6 solo tackles, including a pair of TFLs. Linebacker Knox Moffett had 4 solo tackles and broke up a pass.
Offensively, receiver Richie Talavera had a big night with 3 receptions for 115 yards, including an 80 yard touchdown from Quarterback Emory Dondero. Emory Dondero also connected with Carlos Sualez for a touchdown. Sualez also ran in a touchdown on the final play of the first half. Sophomore Hunter Dailey had a big night running the ball with 96 yards on just 7 attempts. Next for the Broncos is a home game with Boron. The seniors will be honored prior to the 7pm kickoff at John Schwab Field.
