The Broncos close out the non-league portion of their schedule with a 54-0 win at Central (Fresno) on Friday. The Broncos led 47-0 at the half, cruising to a 54-0 victory, notching their second consecutive shutout. Defensively, the Broncos were led by senior Malachi Orrick, who recorded three tackles for a loss and a quarterback hurry. Sophomore safety Hunter Dailey had 5 solo tackles and a pick-six. Jaidyn McKellips had 4 solo tackles, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, and had a tackle for loss. Senior Miguel Elizarraraz had his first career interception, and Dom Barlow had 4 solo tackles and broke up a pass.
Quarterback Emory Dondero had a very efficient game, completing 6 of 6 passes for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns. Richie Talavera was on the receiving end of 2 of Dondero’s touchdowns, pulling in 3 total catches, good for 110 yards. Carlos Sualez caught a touchdown and ran in a pair of scores. Elliott Douda was the leading rusher, needing just 7 carries to rack up 93 yards and a touchdown.
The Broncos are off this week with a Bye and will host Rosamond on October 3rd.
