Coach’s Comments (Head Coach Arnie Palu): “This was a very complete game. Offense, defense, and special teams all played great, especially in the second half. Sophomore Hunter Dailey had a big game on both offense and defense. Hunter went over 100 yards rushing and played great on the defensive side of the ball. The defense held Mission Prep to just a field goal in the second half and made a stop on 4th and 2 near midfield, setting up the offense for the go-ahead score. Emory Dondero did a great job leading and encouraging the team. I’m really proud of the team and the coaching staff.”
Players of the game were Overall Hunter Dailey, a Sophomore running back and safety, who had a breakout game with 7 solo tackles on defense and his first 100-yard rushing game, along with a score. Offense Levi Derr, the senior wide receiver, caught 4 passes for 47 yards, including a touchdown. Defense Chucky Delgado, Senior cornerback, 3 solo tackles, including a tackle for a loss, and made the game-sealing interception. Special teams David Smith Senior blocked fiercely for the Bronco special teams, including two knockdown blocks on the longest return of the game.
The next game for the Broncos is against Garces High School in Bakersfield on September 5th.
