The Bishop Broncos traveled to Desert for league play on May 6 and returned home with a 4–1 win, powered by early offense and a dominant pitching performance from Sienna Fuller.
Fuller threw a complete game, going all seven innings while allowing just three hits and four walks. She struck out nine batters—five of them in the final two innings—shutting down Desert’s late comeback hopes.
Bishop came out strong, putting three runs on the board in the first inning. Cambrie Lanphear led the offense with a hit, two stolen bases, one RBI, and a run scored. Katya Fierro also chipped in, going 1 for 3 with a stolen base and a run. Braydee Momberg and Tannyr Ludwick each scored after getting on base, and Faye Spoonhunter, Ellie Boyd, and Laila Beall all contributed RBIs.
Despite both teams tallying only three hits apiece, Bishop made theirs count. Fuller’s control in the circle was the difference-maker, especially in the late innings, as she struck out five of the final six Desert batters.
With this win, Bishop continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of league play.
