The Bronco JV softball team went to Yerington on April 25, but came up short in a 6-1 non-league loss. Despite playing a solid defensive game, the Broncos struggled to string together hits and capitalize on scoring opportunities.
The lone run for the Broncos came in courtesy of Jocelyn Flores’ hit in the 2nd inning, after Azul Aranzubia’s double. Flores and Aranzubia, along with Sophia Stanley’s single and Shayanne Lopez’s bunt single, were among the Broncos’ notable hits. Haley Rhodes took the loss in the circle, pitching 6 innings and allowing 6 runs on 11 hits and 6 walks.
Despite a strong defensive effort, the Broncos were unable to overcome Yerington’s dominant pitching, ultimately falling short in the 6-1 loss.
