Bishop High School’s varsity softball team faced off against Desert in a tightly contested league matchup on Friday, April 4. Despite a valiant effort, Bishop fell short, losing by a narrow margin of 8 to 7.
Sienna Fuller took to the mound for Bishop, pitching the entire game. She allowed 8 runs on 4 hits, issued 5 walks, and struck out 8 batters, while also dealing with 3 unearned runs. Offensively, the team showed promise, outhitting Desert 10 to 4 but struggled with leaving runners on base, finishing the game with 10 left stranded.
Highlighting the offensive efforts, Katya Fierro led the charge, going 2 for 3 with 1 stolen base and 2 runs scored. Braydee Momberg also contributed significantly, finishing 2 for 5 with a run scored. Cambrie Lanphear had a strong performance as well, going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored.
