This past weekend the Bishop Broncos Track team traveled to Ridgecrest, CA to compete in the annual Burroughs Track and Field Invitational. Teams came from all around like California City, Mammoth, Barstow , Tehachapi Desert Christian, Palmdale, Trona, Rosamond, Imannuel Christian and Burroughs. Bishop had competitors who are new to track and for some this was their first meet.
Highlights
- Gabby Veenker (Sr) – 8th place in the Girls 200m with a time of 29.57
- Ezekiel Lundgren (Fr) – 9th place in the Boys 1600m with a time of 5:20.32 & 10th place in the Boys 800m with a time of 2:30.52
- Steven Veenker (Sr) – 10th place in the Boys 1600m with a time of 5:28.27
- Eli Buck (Jr) – 10th place in the Boys 400m with a time of 59.34
- Ruby Fisher (Jr) – 6th place in the Girls 800m with a time of 2:51.63
- Meghenna Westervelt (Sr) – 8th place in the Girls 100m Hurdles with a time of 25.75
- Brandon Walters (Fr) – 10th place in the Boys 3200m with a time of 12:17.88
- Nic Calderon (Sr) – Tied for 7th place in the Boys High Jump at 4’8″
- Soren Davis (So) – Tied for 7th place in the Boys High Jump at 4’8″

- Joseph Lent (Sr) – 2nd place in the Boys Discus with a throw of 136’5.5″ & 10th place in the Boys Shot Put with a throw of 33’11.25″
- Layton Rossi (Sr) – 3rd place in the Boys Discus with a throw of 118’8″ & 7th place in the Boys Shot Put with a throw of 36’8.25″
- Dre Gardner (Sr) – 5th place in the Boys Discus with a throw of 114’10” & 5th place in the Boys Shot Put with a throw of 38’0.5″
