On December 11th the lady Bronco Varsity Soccer team traveled to Lake Isabella to take on the Kern Valley Broncs in the first league game. Bishop came out very slow and allowed KV to take a 2-0 lead at half time. That was the first time in the last seven years KV has been able to score against the Bishop Girl’s defense. The Girls got fired up at half time and came back. With an assist from Brooke Taylor, Ashley Sandoval lead the charge and was able to find the back of the net.Nine minutes later Madyn Weller sent a cross to Brooke Taylor who was able to score. The third goal was scored by Ashley Sandoval when Taylor Derr found an opening to send a pass through.Player of the game goes to Ashley Sandoval for her front pressure and constant drive gaining the team two of the three goals.Coach Bill Dailey said Kern Valley is a big, strong, and very physical team. Many lessons were learned and one of the most important lesson learned was how to come back from a 2-0 deficit at halftime. Something this team has rarely had to do.
