The Broncos won their 5th consecutive High Desert League title with a 27-6 win at Rosamond Friday night. The win moves Bishop to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in HDL play.
The CIF Central Section playoff brackets were released Saturday with Bishop Union securing the #1 seed in the Division 5 bracket. Bishop will host Sanger West (Fresno) Friday at 6pm.
This past Friday night the Broncos opened up a quick lead and cruised to a 27-6 win. Junior Quarterback Emory Dondero threw a touchdown pass to Malachi Orrick and also ran in a score.
Elijah Reynolds topped 100 yards rushing for a second consecutive game with 107 yards on 16 carries. Garin Pritchard also had a rushing touchdown.
Defensively Dom Dondero, Orrick and Pritchard had huge games. Dondero recorded 4 and a half sacks with Orrick making 9 total tackles including 2 sacks and Pritchard had 7 tackles with a sack.
Nelo Dondero had 5 solo tackles and Elliott Douda had an interception on the Roadrunners opening drive. Sophomore Aiden Esparza handled the kicking duties hitting all three point after kicks and drilling a pair of 27 yard field goals.
