The Broncos hosted their first home league match on 3/20. It was a beautiful day for golf with little to no wind and being around 70 degrees. The team played very well again but still had some struggles. The team shot a combined score of 400 which gave them first place. Second place was taken by Desert with a 497. Third place was Cal City with a 584. Finally in last was Kern Valley with a score of 669. The individual scores for Bishop are:
Kobe Carpenter: 78
Corde Peek: 78
CJ Carrington: 81
Garin Pritchard: 81
Adam Kalk: 82
Cooper Beard: 85
Coach Derek Carrington was pleased with how the team played today again. He is very pleased to see that the team is not only breaking 400 but that it wasn’t a fluke. The team is averaging around 400. He is excited for the team and had this to say, “It’s just a matter of time when the Broncos put it all together on the same day and show everyone and themselves what they are capable of. We could see team scores in the 380’s or 370’s, and all 6 individual scores in the 70’s. This team is very capable of that.” Five of Bishop’s golfers placed in the top six of the match. Everyone on the team seems to be getting better each week and they have a real chance of bringing home a ring this year. For now the Broncos have two weeks off for spring break and return on April 10th to go to Cal City.
Coach Carrington wanted to thank all of the staff at Bishop Country Club for allowing the team to use the course and all of the support that they give.
