March 19th Bishop varsity softball traveled to Kern Valley for their first league game of 2024. Bishop lost to Kern Valley 2 -1. It was a defensive game going 0 to 0 for the first 5 innings. At the top of the 6th Bishop scored 1. Sienna Fuller walked and moved to 3rd on 2 passed balls. Baileigh Momber was walked. Shelby Maillet came up and hit into a double play, scoring Fuller. Going into the bottom of the 6th. The leadoff batter for Kern Valley walked. The second batter bunted and after a series of errors, both runners scored. Bishop came up in the top of the 7th and couldn’t score. Baileigh Momberg pitched the entire game striking out 7, 3 walks, not allowing any hits. Facing 23 batters in 6 innings. Offensively,Sienna Fuller walked once, 1 run scored, Baileigh Momberg had 1 hit (a double) and 1 walk, Shelby Maillet had 1 RBI, Braydee Momberg had 1 hit, Kristin Sorensen walked once, Faye Spoonhunter had a sacrifice bunt, Riley Van Nest had 1 hit. Bishop’s next game is against Frazier Mountain on at 3:15 on Friday, March 22nd here at home. Go Broncos!!
