Bishop varsity traveled to the Mira Monte softball tournament in Bakersfield Friday 3/15, and Saturday 3/16. Coming home with 2 wins and 2 losses. Playing a 6 game week of softball. Bishop had their first game Friday at 5pm vs Ridgeview. Bishop lost 8 to 0. Baileigh Momberg threw all 5 innings facing 21 batters. Giving up 4 hits, 5 strikeouts and 3 walks. 3 earned runs. Offensively, Katya Fierro was 1 for 3, with 1 stolen base, Sienna Fuller was 1 for 3,Cam Lanphear was 1 for 2.
Game #2 Bishop faced Foothill. Bishop had a victory with the score 10 to 1. Baileigh Momberg threw all 5 innings, allowing 1 hit, had 7 strikeouts and 4 walks. And on the Offensively side Katya Fierro walked twice with 3 stolen bases, 2 walks, 1 RBI and 1 run scored,Sienna Fuller reached base on an error, 1 stolen base and 1 run scored, Baileigh Momberg was 2 for 2 with 1 walk, 1 stolen base and 3 runs scored, Jillian Wolfe had 1 walk and 1 run scored, Kris Sorensen was 1 for 2, 1 walk, 1 stolen base and 2 runs scored,Faye Spoonhunter was hit by a pitch, 1 stolen base and 1 run scored,Riley Van Nest was 2 for 3, 2 stolen bases, 2 RBIs and 1 run scored,
Cam Lanphear walked once.
Game #3 Bishop vs Kern Valley. Bishop ended up losing 7- 8 in a tie breaker. Jillian Wolfe started on the mound and went 2 innings. Giving up 2 unearned runs on 1 hit, 1 walk. Baileigh Momberg came in, in relief and pitched the final 5 innings giving up 6 runs (only 2 earned) on 4 hits, 2 walks 1 Hit by pitch and 6 strikeouts. Offensively Katya Fierro was 2 for 4 with 1 RBI and 1 run scored, Sienna Fuller was 1 for 4 with a double, and 2 runs scored, Kris Sorensen had 1 walk,
1 RBI and 1 run scored,Baileigh Momberg had the big bat going 3 for 4 with a homerun, 4 RBIs and 1 run scored, Jillian Wolfe was 2 for 4,Braydee Momberg had 1 stolen base, Riley Van Nest was 2 for 3 with 1 run scored, Cam Lanphear was 1 for 2 with a triple, 1 Hit by pitch, 1 RBI and 1 run scored.
Game #4 vs Host Mira Monte, Bishop took the win in 5 innings 11- 2. Baileigh Momberg pitched all 5 innings with 10 strikeouts, 2 walks and 3 hits. Offensively Katya Fierro was 1 for 2, 2 walks, and 2 runs scored, 1 stolen base,Shelby Maillet was 1 for 4 with 1 RBI,Riley Van Nest was 1 for 3 with 1 RBI 1 stolen base and 2 runs scored,Cam Lanphear was 1 for 3, 1 stolen base and 2 runs scored,Kris Sorensen had 3 walks and 1 hit by pitch, 1 stolen base and 2 runs scored, Faye Spoonhunter had 1 walk 1 stolen base and 1 run scored,Baileigh Momberg had 1 stolen, 1 run scored,Sienna Fuller had 2 walks, 1 stolen base and 1 run scored,Braydee Momberg had 2 stolen bases.
Overall, from these 4 games Bishop played Coach Manuelito is very pleased with the way the young team has been playing. Playing solid defense, making good contact while batting and being aggressive on the bases. Looking forward to beginning league play on Tuesday March 18th at 3:15 in Kern Valley. Go Broncos!!
