Bronco Golf headed to Cal City on 3/13 in order to play in the third HDL match of the season. They must have stayed hot since the last time they saw Tierra Del Sol Golf Course because the team shot under 400 again for the second time this season and on the same course. The team came away with an astounding victory shooting a 398. The second closest team was Desert with a 556. Then follows Cal City with a 616 and Kern Valley with a 681. Seven of the top eight lowest scores were from Bishop and the top four were all Bishop. The scores are:
Kobe Carpenter: 76
Adam Kalk: 79
CJ Carrington: 79
Cooper Beard: 79
Garin Pritchard: 85
Corde Peek: 90
Coach Derek Carrington was incredibly surprised with how well the team played and how four players broke 80. Coach Carrington had this to say about Cooper Beard who had been struggling, “I am very happy that Cooper finally found his groove and went under 80 for the first time this year. This will give him a lot of confidence going into next week.” Robbie McBride played in his first ever travel match and really impressed the players and Coach Carrington. For his first time seeing a course other than Bishop Country Club, Robbie shot a 93 and it’s safe to say he solidified his spot as the number seven golfer on the team. The Broncos are heading onto their first HDL home match next week on 3/20. Coach Carrington hopes to keep the hot streak and confidence going the whole season into the playoffs.
