Broncos Tough Tie with the Huskies

The final score was 2-2. With the tie the Broncos remain the top team in the High Desert League with no losses and one tie.

The BUHS Soccer team has a game next week on Tuesday 1/23/24 against Rosamond Roadrunners, come out and support your Broncos @5pmThe BUHS Soccer team played against the Mammoth Huskies on Thursday fighting to a 2-2 tie. Alejandro Cabrera (Senior) scored the first goal for the Broncos putting them up 1-0. The Mammoth Huskies had a lucky goal that bounced off the post and into the net, putting the score at 1-1.

Juan David Sandoval (Senior) scored an amazing goal that went straight to the top corner, giving the Broncos the lead again.

The Broncos were controlling play in the second half when Mammoth came for an attack and the Bronco keeper Chino Solorio grabbed the ball, the Mammoth players pushed Solorio off of the ball and kicked him, breaking the keepers glasses and then kicked the ball into the back of the net, the referee didn’t see what happened and called it a goal, tying the game at 2-2. The keeper tried talking to the ref about him getting pushed and the ref was giving yellow cards to everyone on the Broncos team. Chino Solorio got mad and kicked the ball away and the ref gave him a Red Card.

Armando Santana-Muro

Armando Santana-Muro, a sophomore at Bishop Union High School. He is 15 years old, and Armando wants to go to UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) after high school to pursue his dream of becoming a Professional Soccer Player. His favorite subject in school right now is ELA. Armando is a student athlete, He plays Soccer, He is a midfielder, in his free time he likes to hang out with friends, and he like to do drills at the field with his friends so they can get in shape for the season. Armando is a writer for Bronco Round Up, and is interested in writing for sports news.

Andrew Esparza

Andrew Esparza is a senior at Bishop Union High School. After high school Andrew would like to go to lineman school in hopes to work for an electrician company in California or Nevada. His favorite subjects in school are com graph art and media and digital broadcasting. Andrew is a student athlete and he plays soccer. He is one of the two captains of the schools soccer team. His position in soccer is right back. He can play multiple positions but he prefers to play defense. Andrew in his free time likes to travel, ride quads, and spend time with family. He is a journalist for the Bronco Roundup.
