Friday night the Bishop Broncos celebrated homecoming with a 42-7 victory over the Cal City Ravens. With the win the Broncos improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in High Desert League play.
The Broncos took an early lead on a touchdown run by Kaleb Brooks and a td pass from Boden St. Marie to Richie Talavera. Blaise Lemons caught a touchdown pass from Boden St. Marie stretching the lead to 21-0 before Austin Powell scored a second time, moving the score to 27-0 at the half. At the half Cesar Esparza and Lilly Morrison were crowned King and Queen in front of a big homecoming crowd. Austin Powell added a second half touchdown run and Sophomore Emory Dondero threw a TD pass to Richie Talavera capping the scoring. The defense was strong holding California City scoreless until the final play of the running clock.

Overall Richie Talavera Sophomore scored a pair of touchdowns on receptions and was also the teams leading rusher. Had a solid game on defense including a pass breakup.
Offensive Blaise Lemons Senior wide receiver had a team high 3 receptions including his first touchdown. Defensive Elijah Reynolds Junior linebacker had yet another solid game leading the defense and had a quarterback sack.
Special Teams Emory Dondero Sophomore had a big impact in his first varsity game of the season including scoring on a two point conversion and holding on PAT kicks.
