Marlene Gutierrez is currently a senior here at BUHS. After high school, she plans to attend Cerro Coso community college for two years before transferring to the University of Reno, Nevada. She will then enroll in a medical school once she has finished her four years of education. She is interested in studying radiology and that is why she is taking medical assisting as one of her classes right now. One day, she hopes to earn a masters degree and start her career as a radiologist.
So far, Marlene has enjoyed high school and believes that this year will be great. She mentions that her favorite part about high school is being able to see her friends and her favorite teacher Ms. Nafeh. During lunch time, Marlene usually likes to go out with her friends to the Bishop Beverage Center and buy her favorite snack, Hot Cheetos. She is happy that throughout her high school years she was able to make so many friends and keep good grades.
I asked Marlene what advice she would give to incoming freshmen?
she responded with “Have fun and stay on top of your work. Don’t be afraid to ask for help if it’s needed. By your junior year, kind of decide what you want to do after high school so when you go into your senior year, you won’t have to be that stressed out.
