Isaac Ramirez is currently a senior this year at BUHS. He came to BUHS as a sophomore and says that he is satisfied with how his high school experience has gone. He admitted to there being a few ups and downs but he is excited for what’s next. He’s not completely decided on what he wants to major in when going to college,l but he has narrowed it down to two options, either he wants to major in cinematic arts in order to become a movie director or director of photography, or he wants to study in aerospace engineering and get a job at JPL at NASA. When I asked him, “What made you want to transfer to BUHS?” he answered that he wanted to meet new people and that staying at Big Pine would only stunt his growth. He knew that BUHS had so many more classes and sports to offer than Big Pine did so he’s incredibly grateful that he made that decision. Speaking of sports and hobbies, he says that it was nice to meet new friends in track and field although he didn’t particularly enjoy his time on the team but is grateful he tried it out anyway. The main takeaway he got from track and field was that it was nice to meet people with such common interests as him and he grew close to teammates. He says that meeting all these diverse people from different backgrounds is truly his favorite part of this school. Finally, he wanted to share some advice to incoming freshmen or transfer students, “Follow your morals and values and try to do as many things as you can because before you know it high school will be all over and it will be nothing but just another small chapter in your life.”
