The Bishop Union football team dominated Yosemite High School 48-0 Friday at the Badgers home field. The big win improves the Broncos record 2-0 as Bishop Union won their opener on the road at Fernley on August 18th with the score 7-0.
The defense recorded their second shutout of the 2023 season led by Jason Mullner with 5 tackles including 2 tackles for loss and pass break up. Joe Lent also led the team with 2 sacks against the Badger offense. Milton Michel also had one interception, returned for a touchdown, while also scoring on a reception and also scoring on a punt return. Overall Yosemite did not get a first down until the second half.
Boden St Marie led the offense with 162 yards passing and 2 touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown. Austin Powell led the rushing game with 5 carries for 76 yds and had 1 rushing touchdown. Elijah Reynolds also had 4 carries for 33 yds and 1 touchdown. And Miltion Michel had 4 receptions for 57 yds and 1 touchdown.
This week is a bye week but next week the Broncos will host the Burroughs at John Schwab field. Varsity is set to kick off at 7pm. Following the game with Ridgecrest Burroughs, the Broncos will be back on the road to play the Ontario Christian Knights on September 18th.
