With the winter sports up and running it is always good to know a little bit about the coach’s mindset when going in. This is an interview with girls varsity head coach Jessica Sharkey.
Q:How long have you been coaching basketball?
A:“I have been coaching basketball for 6 years.”
Q:Did you play basketball when you were in high school or college?
A:“Yes, I played for Mammoth High School all four years.”
Q:What is your favorite thing about being a coach?
A:“My favorite thing about coaching is building relationships with the players and getting to still play the game.”
Q:What do you think is gonna be the biggest disadvantage for you team?
A:“I don’t really see a disadvantage for our team. As long as everyone stays healthy and motivated I think we will have a strong team.”
Q:What do you think is going to be the biggest advantage for your team?
A:“We have some girls with some great speed and ball control and also have strength down below that will give us an advantage come game time”
Q:Do you think this is going to be a good season? Why or Why not?
A:“I am really excited about this season! I think we have a dedicated group of girls that if they work hard will come out with a winning season.”
Its great to see the confidence this coach has in her players to make this a great season.
