Interview With the New Student Dean
Bob Church, after being retired for 2 years, returns to BUHS as the Student Dean.

Bob Church was born in Delaware, after moving to Philadelphia and Olathe Colorado, he moved to Rovana, being a student here at BUHS for all four years. He grew up playing baseball which got him into a community college in Barstow, later moving to Humboldt State, getting him his teaching credentials. Later on he went to big pine as a teacher, working in special education and coaching three sports, being a league representative. After leaving coaching he worked in middle schools and high schools throughout Inyo County. After retiring for 2 years he went to BUHS, to be the new student dean. When asked about his goals for this year he said that it is “to meet as many high school students, get to know them, and hopefully help them along the way” Mr. Church said. When questioned about the school’s anti-bullying policy he stated that bullying is one of his “pet peeves”, “I want to make a difference” Church Said. He also informed us that the high school is planning on reducing behavior problems with policy changes. When questioned about the lunch and break times, “when people ask for something more, it tends to get taken away” Mr. Church said, stating that if students complain there might be a chance of them removing the out-of-campus lunch, “I would hate to see [that] happen” Church said. In the case of Chromebooks he stated that they can’t do much about the damages and mismatched parts but they are “aware” of the spyware they use to track students. When asked about the current state of on-campus lunch he said he would propose some anti cutting policies, maybe using a ticket system to make cutting harder to pull off.
