Mrs. Quintana is a beloved teacher at Bishop Union High School, whom we had the privilege of interviewing. A few of the highlighted questions are as follows.
What college did you attend to get your degree? What degree do you have?
“ I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Scripts Women’s College, and a Master’s Degree in Multi Cultural Education,” said Mrs. Quintana.
What’s your favorite part about being a teacher?
“My favorite part about being a teacher is getting to know so many wonderful students,” to which she later added, “and help them plan for their futures.”
How many years have you been teaching?
“I’ve been teaching for 14 years.”
What do you teach?
“Economics, government, AP government, and next year AP psychology.“
Rumor has it that you are the coolest teacher in the school district. What are your thoughts on that?
“I’m flattered.”
What are the other teachers like?
“Secretly, behind closed doors, my coworkers are a ton of fun. Some are even party animals,” she said.
Do you have a favorite student overall?
“No comment.”
What is your favorite class period?
“I know that my favorite period is AP Government, but im not saying all of my classes are.”
Why did you choose to become a teacher?
“On accident; it was the only program available. I would’ve been a psychologist or followed my true passion; constitutional law.”
What do you find the most frustrating part of teaching?
“The school district constantly adding new programs, then dropping them.”
How do you evaluate your students?
“Knowledge, skills, and effort.”
