The World Series

Lukas Di Angelo

This years World Series between The Chicago Cubs and The Cleveland Indians will be historic no matter what the outcome is. To see these teams in a World Series, let alone the Postseason, is a pretty odd occurrence. The Indians haven’t won a World Series since 1948, however their last trip to the World Series was in 1997 in which they lost to the Florida Marlins. The Cubs on the other hand, haven’t won The World Series since 1908 and haven’t been to the Series since 1945 in which they lost to The Detroit Tigers.

Both of these teams have some pretty stellar lineups that can get the job done on both offense and defense however I feel that The Cubs have the upper hand on defense while The Indians seem to be a tad better when it comes to putting runs on the board, so it is a pretty evenly matched series. The Indians are leading The Cubs in the series as they are up three games to two but The Cubs might have found their groove after forcing a game six and possibly a  game seven. Tomorrow nights game will be a nail biter because both teams have strong pitchers on the mound with relatively low ERA’s which will keep bats on both ends quiet. If The Cubs win tomorrow nights game, the final game of the series will be set, but if The Indians are to come out on top, they will be crowned the 2016 World Series Champions. The final game will be one that you surely won’t want to miss.
