Broncos Pitchers Turn in One-Hit Wonder

Bishop Broncos players Cain Omohundro, Reese Dondero, and Albert Cano all combined to throw a one-hit, shutout as the Broncos stayed upbeaten in HDL play defeating Desert 17-0. Omohundro led things off for the Broncos lasting three innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking zero. Dondero and Cano finished off the pitching effort for the day allowing just one hit with Cano striking out a two and Dondero striking out the only scorpion he faced.  

Cano collected four hits in four at-bats to help lead Bishop Broncos to victory. Cano tripled in the first, doubled in the second, doubled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

Bishop Broncos scored nine runs in the second inning. Bishop Broncos’ big bats were led by Kennedy Batchelder, Acie Valdivia, Cano, Cain Omohundro, Batchelder, and Hector Martinez, who each had RBIs in the inning.

Bishop Broncos stole 11 bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Riley Eropkin led the way with two.

The Broncos improve to 16-3 overall and a perfect 11-0 in High Desert League play.  Next up is a trip to California City for a Friday game with the Ravens.
