Ximena is a senior here at Bishop Union Highschool this year as an exchange student from Chiapas Mexico. Ximena arrived in our little town with a big backyard in August just before starting school and will be here until a little after graduation when she will be surrounded by her friends, classmates, and host family along with the community. Here are Ximena’s plans for after graduation.

How are you feeling about graduation?

“I am feeling excited for graduation because it is my first and last graduation in another country and I am feeling sad because I am leaving soon.”

How do you like Bishop?

“The town looks like one of those old towns from the American movies and it is really pretty and open.”

What are your plans for after high school?

” I am going to go to back home to Mexico for two months and then do another year of exchange in Belgium.”

What will you miss the most about Bishop/ California?

“I will miss the landscapes and that we were able to go off campus for lunch.”

What is the most rewarding part about exchange?

“meeting all the new people and seeing how different areas are so different and how there are so many different lifestyles around the world.”

Would you recommend other students do a exchange?

“Yes I would, because it allows you to grow as a person and make connections that you will have for the rest of your life along with being pushed out of your comfort zone.”
