A little scoop on Mrs. Greene

A little scoop on Mrs. Greene

Have you ever wondered why a teacher decided to become a teacher? Or what your teacher does with their spare time? Well you can now know what it is like to be a world history teacher from the insight of Mrs. Sasha Greene.

Greene is a world history teacher at Bishop Union High School. Everyone loves the upbeat way she teaches.  She always knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat even though it is just boring ol’ world history. There is never not a time when there isn’t a kid or two in her room. You could say she is the coolest teacher on the block.

I asked Her a few questions such as what is the best part about being a world history teacher? How long did it take you to become a teacher? And is there any certain reason why you wanted to become a teacher? In return she said that “Watching students make connections to the world and to get excited about it. I also love watching students get involved with their community and society.” It took Greene a long time to become a teacher with many career changes. The reason why she wanted to become a teacher was because she wanted to inspire people to enjoy and love learning as much as she does. Also to interact with others in a meaningful kind of way and to THINK!!!

With being a mother and a teacher how does Mrs. Greene fit it all in. She tries to balance her time and keep the two separated, but keeping them separated isn’t always possible. When Greene isn’t teaching she enjoys reading, hiking, spending time with her family, traveling, sailing, and scuba diving. Wow a scuba diving teacher,  now that’s a first for Bishop.
