Bishop Bronco Football Celebrates Homecoming with win over Rosamond

On Friday night the Bishop Broncos defeated Rosemond 55-0 for their homecoming game. The Bishop Broncos are looking forward to playing Boron for the HDL championship. 

In the Rosamond game the Bronco Defense pitched it’s second consecutive shutout. Kaelan Smith had his best game with 3 tackles for a loss. Reese Dondero had 6 solo tackles. Cain Omohundro and Aden Arndal each had 10 total tackles and 5 solos each. Sophomore Austin Powell also had a strong game with 3 tackles for a loss.

Senior Quarterback Jakob Redmond had another big game completing 8 of 13 passes for 163 yards and 5 touchdowns. Redmond also rushed for a touchdown on senior night. Zach Mojarro had a big night rushing for 140 yards on just 11 carries. Colt Matteson caught 3 passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. Cain Omohundro and Walker Rost Kruger each had two touchdown catches. 

Cheveyo Marques had a big night in the return game with 95 yards in punt and kick off returns. Stephan Poole had a nice night on special teams with 5 solo tackles. At halftime senior guard Shane Norris was crowned homecoming king.

“Overall it was a great night with all three phases of the game playing well,” Palu said. “Jakob Redmond had another strong night throwing 5 more touchdown passes and Cain Omohundro did a great job on defense leading our team to their second consecutive shutout.”
