The Bishop Union High School softball team played two games this week. The first one was a home game against Rosamond on Monday. The Broncos beat Rosamond 15-5. Senior pitcher Jazmyn Dondero pitched for 5 innings and got 11 strikeouts.

During the Rosamond game, the Broncos got their bats on the ball. Senior Sadie Dishion was 3 for 3 with a triple, and freshman Baileigh Momberg had a triple as well. Seniors MaNeSe Braithwaite and Jazmyn Dondero were 3 for 3 with a double each. Seniors Lauren Allen and Kayla Rodriguez also got doubles.

Team spirit was at an all-time high at the home game. According to head coach Stacy Van Nest, “the girls definitely have the first home game jitters out of the way” and “they were pumped up.”

However, the BUHS softball team lost their second game of the week. It was an away game against Desert on Thursday. There were various complications involving absent players, a lengthy delay at the Edwards Air Force base gate, and an injury. The final score was 4-7.

As of right now, in their league, the Bishop Broncos have 2 wins and 1 loss. Their next game is an away game against Boron on May 6th.
