First Softball Game of the Season

The Bishop Broncos played their first softball game at the Cerro Coso campus in Ridgecrest against Vasquez and lost 2-4. However, lead coach Stacy Van Nest is “proud of our first game action… they battled until the end… the team chemistry was great.”

Some highlights of the game were on offense. Senior Lauren Allen was 3 for 3 with a double. Senior Kayla Rodriguez had an RBI, and senior Jazmyn Dondero walked and scored a run.

Defensively, the Broncos did pretty good. They did not have any errors that resulted in Vasquez base runners advancing. Senior MaNeSe Braithwaite did really well with her pitching. She pitched 2 innings and had three strikeouts.

“We are looking forward to our next game,” Van Nest says, which is against Lone Pine on Wednesday the 21st.
