Bishop Bronco Football Schedule 2020-2021
Are you ready for some cold weather football? The 2020-2021 Bishop Bronco Football schedule looks like nothing we have ever seen. Due to Covid-19, the defending CIF champions will not take the field until January 22nd, 2021. The Broncos will play a full High Desert League schedule and three non-league games in the 2020-2021 season.
The Broncos will open play on Friday, January 22nd hosting Burroughs. The Fighting Scots of Rim of the World high school will visit Bishop on February 5th, and the Broncos will travel to Hanford West on February 13th to round out the non-league schedule. Two Nevada regional games with Yerington and Fernley were dropped from the schedule as Nevada will hold off play until spring.
The High Desert League schedule opens with a match up of the past two HDL champs as the Broncos host California City on February 19th. The Broncos stay home the following weekend hosting Desert before traveling to rival Kern Valley on March 5th. The HDL schedule wraps up with a home duel with Rosamond on March 12th and road trip to Boron March 19th.
The 2019 Broncos captured the HDL championship, the CIF Central Section Division 6 championship qualifying for the CIF State Championship. The 2020-2021 version of the Broncos returns several starters on both sides of the ball with key members moving up from last year’s Junior Varsity team.
“We had a special team last year and a great postseason run, I’m hopeful and optimistic that we will get a chance to make a deep run this year,” said head Coach Arnie Palu. “We have so much talent returning and a great group moving up from the Junior Varsity squad. They are all working hard in preparation for the season ahead.”
