Top 10 Halloween Costumes + Makeup Tutorials

Grace Griego

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! No, I am not talking about Christmas, but I mean the amazing season of Autumn. As the leaves turn brilliant shades of yellow, orange, and red, the weather turns chillier, sweaters and scarves are layered on, and Halloween fastly approaches, the glorious season of Fall is officially here. Halloween is my personal favorite holiday and I have decided on my personal top 10 Halloween costumes along with makeup tutorials for each costume. Ready? Here we go.

1. Skeleton

“Spooky scary skeletons and shivers down your spine!” This is an absolute Halloween classic. The makeup for this is time consuming but not complex and this costume guarantees major candy gains.

      1. Zombie

Another classic Halloween costume. The zombie makeup can take a lot of time and patience, but the payoff is absolutely worth it. Fellow trick-or-treaters will be in awe of your costume.

      1. Vampire

The vampire costume can be either terrifying or lascivious. Thus, I put the first video as more gore oriented and the second video as more sensual. This costume is a Halloween win.

      1. Ghost

The ghost costume has simple makeup and is a classic symbol for Halloween. If you are feeling especially lazy this Halloween, you can cut out two holes in a white sheet, put it over your head, say Boo, and call that good.

      1. Werewolf

This makeup tutorial takes a bit of practice to get the hang of, but it’s not nearly as complex as some of the other makeup tutorials I have listed above. The werewolf is an easily recognizable Halloween costume and you are sure to get tons of compliments this year.

      1. Creepy Broken Doll

I don’t know about you, but any stories about creepy dolls come to life have always freaked me out. This makeup tutorial is sure to turn heads and it is simple enough to follow that anyone can acheive this look for Halloween.

        1. Comic Book Character

This makeup tutorial creates an eye popping comic book effect that is sure to impress. The makeup is not too tricky, but it is still a fun costume with an awesome overall effect.

      1. Frankenstein’s Monster

This tutorial will transform you into one of the most well known monsters in the world, Frankenstein’s monster. This look requires a bit of special effect makeup, but overall it is a simple costume that many will recognize.

      1. Bloody Eye

This makeup tutorial is specifically for beginners but looks like you put a ton of work into your costume. The bloody eye offers a creepy factor all while not using up too much effort.

      1. Iron Man/Tony Stark

Lastly I had to include at least one superhero! Now this look definitely requires a lot of practice and time, but the end result looks awesome. People will have to do double takes to see if you’re Tony Stark or Iron Man when in reality, you’re both! Or just Robert Downey Jr. because who can actually tell the difference between him and Tony Stark?

Those were my top 10 Halloween costumes for this year! I hope you enjoyed and if you have any suggestions for other makeup tutorials for costumes feel free to comment your ideas.
