Help Support Entertainment Club

Grace Griego

Entertainment Club is a fairly new club that was just started at BUHS last year. The purpose of Entertainment Club is to provide a place for students to watch and discuss media. I asked Paige Lary, secretary of Entertainment Club, about what a typical meeting includes. Paige said “We typically get together and discuss things to do, ways to fundraise, and watch all types of media like movies and TV shows. We sometimes play games like hangman.” I was a member last year and I had a blast. I remember at one meeting we just watched an episode of Parks and Recreation. While we didn’t do too much since we were a fairly new club, we hope to do more events this year. Hopefully future events would include things like a movie night for the community. To start off the year, the Entertainment Club has been gracious enough to help fund my Gold Award. A Gold Award is the highest level of achievement a Girl Scout can earn and it is basically a huge community service project. For my project I want to bring in Terri Farley, an award winning author, and her photographer Melissa Farlow to Bishop to host a creative writing workshop for the youth of our community. To help fund this project and the future events of Entertainment Club, we are holding a fundraiser this Saturday at the fields at the Bishop City Park during the AYSO soccer games from 9AM to 12PM. We will be holding a bake sale filled with cookies, cupcakes, water bottles and all sorts of goodies. Please stop on by to show your support!
