Interview with Edi Lou Arrowood: Volleyball in Oregon

Kiara Vizcarrondo

We have one more Lady Bronco continuing on to play a college sport! Edi Lou Arrowood, like myself, is excited to say she will be playing for Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon this fall. Pacific University is a Division III school. Edi Lou has been working very hard to be able to accept this opportunity and would like to thank her coach, her mom, and her grandmother for pushing her to do her best and to succeed. More information on Edi Lou and Pacific University below:

How did you get connected with the coaches?
Edi: I emailed them, many many times!

Have you met the coach or any of your teammates?
Edi: I have yet to meet any of them, but there is a Facebook page for my class (2021) and I have connected with some of my teammates through there.

What is your favorite thing about Oregon?
Edi: I love the climate and the culture I will be able to experience.

How soon will you leave after graduation?
After I return from Australia in July, I will head to Oregon mid August right before school starts.

What are you planning on majoring in?
I plan to major in math, I want to become a high school math teacher after I finish schooling. I also want to minor in Spanish because I have considered teaching Spanish as well.

Why did you choose this school?
I chose this university because of the location, Forest Grove is a smaller city but it’s near Portland. I did research on the school and from everyone else’s previous experience it seemed like the right school for me. Even if I had not joined the volleyball program, I would still end up here.

What are you looking forward to the most?
I’m looking forward to more life experience. Bishop is so small, I am looking forward to experiencing new things.

Edi Lou would like to mention that she is thrilled to be able to go to Australia to play volleyball, but still needs some help with fundraising. Once again she’d like to thank everyone who helped her get this far. Thanks again Edi, congratulations!
